From the title my 2nd post might now seem much more inspiring than the first, but endure with me for what I have to say may seem like a simple fact, but its truth is deeply profound and impossible to fully comprehend.
Last night I had the privilege of teaching the 3 year old-Kindergarten class here at BCC. I pondered and prayed as to what I should teach and contemplated what one truth I wanted to help the kids learn and understand. What better truth is there than God loves me? We learned God made us (fearfully and wonderfully of course) and He loves us just the way we are. He loves us so much He takes care of us, meets our needs, and even knows the number of hairs on our head, which was impossible for us to count. Then we made our love critter to remind us of God’s love for us.
The kids enjoyed creating the love critters and parents were just as excited about them as the kids, after all, everyone loves to be loved. It’s an innate desire which resides in the very core of our being. We all long to be loved. The simple fact is, we are loved. Each and every one of us. The deeply profound and mind-boggling truth is we are loved by God. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s love and there is nothing we can do to decrease or cease God’s love for us. He loves us unconditionally and without reservations. It’s a difficult concept around which to wrap your head, when you think about an ageless God who spoke all life into existence and out of every molecule, atom, element, and creature He created, it is man, it is me, it is you He loves so deeply and so recklessly that He would send His Son to earth to pay the price of our sins so we could spend eternity with Him. Eternity with the Son, Spirit, and the angels is not enough for God, He longs for us to be with Him forever. His love for us spans beyond this temporal mortal existence. It reaches past the grave because He gave us immortal souls which allow His infinite and perpetual love to be poured out on us for all eternity. When God says “I love you forever” it’s not just a line, it is legitimate and literal.
I hope this love critter has helped warm your heart by reminding you of God’s love. After all, what better truth is there?
